A room for all seasons

Solid Conservatory Roofs

Research carried out at Cranfield University has shown that the average south-facing conservatory reaches a comfortable temperature for only two hours a day!

The glass or polycarbonate roof and walls have minimal insulation values and a conservatory is little more than a greenhouse tacked onto the side of a house.

Is your conservatory…

Too hot in summer?

Too cold in winter?

Too expensive to heat?

Too noisy when it rains?

Too much sun glare?

If you suffer from any of these problems, then a solid conservatory roof conversion is the answer!

The Solution…

Cooler in summer

Warmer in winter

Saves energy bills

Reduced outside noise

Adds value to your home

One of the main advantages of a solid roof is that your conservatory has reduced changes in temperature. Due to the heat reflection and retention benefits of our insulated systems your room can stay cooler in summer and keep warmer in winter.

Our solid conservatory roof systems are a custom made replacement for your existing roof, constructed with timber, multiple layers of insulation materials and lightweight tiles. We utilise the natural thermal properties of timber, similar to your average house roof.

This cost effective solution to gaining that extra room within your home is a cheaper alternative to a traditional extension, yet has all of the same benefits! The new ceiling will be finished with plasterboard and plaster skim so it can be decorated like a conventional extension.

If you want to maximise on natural light, you can choose from a range of Velux roof windows. If you want to match your new conservatory roof to your existing house roof we have several different colours and types of tile available to help you achieve this.

Many other conservatory roof conversions just reuse the existing aluminium frames and just ‘over-clad’ with a solid roof.

Beware of cheap over-cladding systems!

  • Overstress existing roof structure
  • Prone to condensation behind insulation
  • Loss of head height
  • Concerns over long-term deterioration of the existing conservatory roof
