How it works
Our bespoke warm conservatory roofs are a custom made replacement for your existing glass or polycarbonate roof
Each of our conservatory roof replacements is built entirely from new by our qualified tradesmen using the latest techniques and insulation materials.
By utilising the natural thermal properties of timber, we avoid the common issue of damp that occurs with an aluminium system. This damp occurs when warm air condenses on a cold surface, such as an aluminium rafter in the roof of your conservatory, and forms moisture. This moisture then has the potential to drip onto the insulation and damage the plasterboard ceiling.
With our system the existing conservatory roof is removed and a completely new roof is constructed using a custom made timber frame that is designed specifically for each installation, it is then thermally insulated and covered with slate effect lightweight roof tiles.
The modern, lightweight TapcoSlate tiles used in our roofs are authentically shaped with textured surfaces and riven edges moulded from authentic slates. This makes them almost indistinguishable from natural slate – yet it has an even more refined appearance. They do not crack, break or delaminate, and its product formulation and manufacturing processes provide durability, performance, and longevity for many years to come!
The tiles are available in a range of colours and styles with the most popular shown here, giving you the option to either colour match your homes existing roof or go for something entirely different.
Our fully insulated roof designs achieve U-values of just 0.15w/m2k to comply with new Building Control requirements introduced in June 2022 for the conservation of fuel and power. This exceptional thermal performance minimises heat loss in winter and can help maintain a nice cool room in the summer.
The insulation material within our roofing system not only provides superb thermal insulation but it also provides an excellent sound barrier too. A new insulated roof will dramatically reduce the sound of rain, traffic and other outside noises meaning you can use your space undisturbed.
With a fresh new interior your conservatory can now look and feel like part of your home, with a choice of internal finishes to suit your needs and a vaulted ceiling to maximise on that feeling of space!
The high quality interior finish with freshly plastered and painted surfaces will allow light to reflect around the living space and if you want to allow even more light to enter the room we can install Velux skylight roof windows, which not only shower the room with natural light, but can also assist air circulation and ventilation.
With the versatility of our new roofing system you will be able to choose a number of fitting options with regards to lighting and ceiling fans, with new energy saving LED spot lights being a popular choice. We can also fit an internal perimeter pelmet system that blends into the room and allows you to stylishly integrate lighting and speakers. All electrical work will be carried out and certified by a qualified electrician, which will also give you the opportunity to add extra power or tv points if needed.
Each installation is finished externally with all new facias, guttering, and downpipes to compliment the quality finish of the roof.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my conservatory become dark?
Light loss is kept to a minimum as the same amount of light enters through all the windows and doors and with a plastered and painted finish light is allowed to reflect around the living space. To allow additional light to enter the room you can opt for a skylight to be installed.
Does the new roof require planning permission?
Planning permission is not usually required for the replacement of your old glass or polycarbonate roof for one of our roofing systems.
Do you dispose of the old conservatory roof?
Yes. We will remove and dispose of your old conservatory roof and all waste materials.
Will my conservatory be strong enough to take the weight of a new roof?
Most conservatories are built to be strong enough to support a glass roof should the customer choose that over polycarbonate. Our roofs are marginally heavier than a standard glass roof, which is surprisingly heavy! The vast majority of window frames are suitable to carry the weight. Our roofing systems are manufactured to extremely high standard and are designed to withstand wind, snow and other external forces.
Will it help cut down the outside noise level?
Yes. Glass and especially polycarbonate roofs become noisy during rain or hail showers. The insulation material within our roofing system not only provides superb thermal insulation but it also provides an excellent sound barrier too. A new insulated ceiling will dramatically reduce the sound of rain, traffic and other outside noises meaning you can use your space undisturbed.
Can I change my existing lights?
Yes. We will be completely replacing your existing roof and the versatility of our new system will enable you to choose a number of light fitting options. Spot lights installed into the new ceiling of your conservatory is one of the most popular choices. We also offer the option of an internal perimeter pelmet system that will allow you to integrate lighting and cabling for speakers. All electrical work is carried out and signed off by a qualified electrician.
Will it stop my condensation problem?
Yes. Condensation occurs when warm air rises and hits a cold surface, such as the roof of your conservatory. The warm air condenses on the cold surface, forming moisture. Our roofing system utilise the natural thermal properties of timber, similar to your average house roof, forming a thermal barrier with its insulation.
Will it be cooler in summer and warmer in winter?
Yes. Many polycarbonate roofs, especially older types can have U-Values of around 2.5w/m2k, our fully insulated roof design achieves U-values of 0.15w/m2k (over 10 times more efficient than an A-rated window). This exceptional thermal performance minimises heat loss in winter and can help maintain a nice cool room in the summer.
Is my conservatory too big, or too small?
Our bespoke roofing systems are custom made to each individual conservatory so no matter what the size or style of your conservatory we are able to design and fit a solution for you. In many cases we are even able to create a new roof shape.
Can I choose the tile colour?
Yes. The tiles used in our roofing system come in a choice of finishes and colours, so you’re sure to find a perfect match! Because our roofing systems are all bespoke we are able to run your new roof into your existing house roof creating a seamless finish.
Is the new roof guaranteed?
Yes. We provide a full 10-year insurance backed guaranteed on our tiled roofing system, so you can be sure that you’re getting a well-designed and well-made product that’s built to last. There’s even a warranty on tiles of up to 40 years!
